DPhil

Take a graduate degree in Ageing at the University of Oxford!

Are you interested in societal or individual ageing?

Do you have a background in policy studies, sociology, public health, demography, economics, geography, anthropology or gerontology?

If so, you would be particularly welcome to study for a DPhil at the University of Oxford via the Institute of Population Ageing.

The Oxford Institute of Population Ageing is a multi-disciplinary research institute focusing on the implications of population ageing in both the more developed and developing worlds and on the globalisation of ageing.

Academics at the Institute work on issues concerning:

  • health economics
  • work and retirement
  • intergenerational relationships
  • families and communities
  • health and social care

We have particular interests in Europe, the US, Asia, Latin America and Africa.

The Institute has strong relations with government departments, the voluntary and policy sectors and the corporate world. It maintains strong links with the medical school at Oxford.

The Institute is also happy to discuss opportunities with interested applicants from the humanities and medicine.
