Opportunities for Fellowships

  Institute Fellowships for scholars from developing countries

The Leslie Kirkley Fellowship and James Martin Fellowship

The OIA is able to sponsor emerging researchers from Latin America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe (from non-OECD Countries) through a series of designated bursaries. These visits are for one academic term only. Emerging researchers and students undertaking age-related research  and coming from developing and transitional economies are invited to apply.

  Short term visitors

Short term visitors are also encouraged, particularly if they are working closely with an OIA member. All short term visitors are asked to contribute a donation to the Institute's Leslie Kirkley Fund to support emerging researchers from developing and transitional economies.   Fellowships in connection with joint research applications

The OIA would be happy to act as a co-applicant/host institution for a variety of scholarships including the following schemes/fellowships:

  • British Council
  • Marie Curie
  • Newton Fellowships (British Academy/Royal Society)
