Biosketch
Ms. Wright has been in nursing practice for 22 yrs in a variety of fields but mainly in gerontology. Her main interest is the development of person centred practice through working collaborative with older people, practitioners, educators and managers to implement evidenced based practice. This needs to be relevant to the local context and with the aim of enablement and empowerment of those involved. Ms. Wright has had joint roles between education institutes including the Royal College of Nursing and clinical practice

Research Interests
- Understanding the impact of the local context (leadership, culture evaluation) on approaches to care
- Collaborative approaches to, and involvement of older people in, research and development
Key methodological skills
- Qualitative approaches esp. emancipatory practice development (a process of enlightenment, empowerment and emancipation of participants to enable them to lead and deliver effective person centred care)
- Facilitation of focus groups, one to one supervision and action learning groups
Current/planned research
- All-Ireland 2-year collaborative study to determine the contextual indicators (culture, leadership and evaluation) that hinder or enhance evidence based continence care for older people.
