'Working till you drop’ – Designing work for older people


OIA's first seminar in the series convened by Kate Hamblin  ‘Work, Wellbeing and Retirement’ for the Trinity Term has been launched on 5th may with a talk by Prof. Peter Buckle (Robens Institute) entitled:

‘Working till you drop’ –Designing work for older people’

Professor Peter Buckle is the Director of the Robens Institute and visiting Professor at the University of Surrey. He is also the President elect and a Fellow of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health. He was Chairman and Founder Member of the Musculoskeletal Scientific Committee of the International Commission on Occupational Health (1996-2001). His areas of expertise include: patient safety; examining the relationship between work and musculoskeletal disorders; the development of epidemiological and ergonomic methods; the evaluation of ergonomic interventions and ergonomic approaches to reducing accidents, accident reporting and analysis.

OIA seminars take place on Thursdays at 12:30 at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, 66 Banbury Road (across from North Parade).
