Intergenerational Contact Zones | Intergenerational Think Tank Meeting

The Oxford Institute of Population Ageing hosts think tank meeting on Intergenerational Contact Zones

Friday, June 26, 2015, 10:00 – 15:30

This meeting of a multi-disciplinary group of scholars and practitioners will be an opportunity for groundwork discussions and collaborative inquiry aimed at exploring existing approaches and charting new strategies for creating effective intergenerational spaces in diverse community contexts. One line of discussion will centre on intergenerational contact zones, an integrated conceptual framework through which the intersections between environmental design and intergenerational relations could be better understood. An intended outcome of this preliminary meeting is to establish a working group of professionals interested in collaborating on research and outreach education endeavours leading to the development of new tools and resources for creating and/or enhancing intergenerational spaces.

The meeting planning and facilitation team: Jaco Hoffman (Oxford Institute of Population Ageing), Matt Kaplan, (Pennsylvania State University, USA), Mariano Sánchez (University of Granada, Spain), Alan Hatton-Yeo, MBE (Community for All Ages, UK), Susan Langford, MBE (Magic Me, London), and Claudia Azevedo (University of Porto Portugal and Visitor, Oxford Institute of Population Ageing).
