About the Speaker
Prof Angela Hassiotis
Professor of Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability, Epidemiology & Applied Clinical Research, Division of Psychiatry, UCL
People with intellectual disabilities are one of the most underserved population groups in terms of health and health service access. Older people with intellectual disabilities are a new service user group with limited research supporting approaches to their care.
Angela Hassiotis has contributed to applied health research and clinical developments in this topic area and will discuss the current state of research and clinical understanding of aging in this population. The seminar will offer insights that may lead to further collaborative efforts to improve quality of life and improve standards of care in this group.
