About the Speaker

Dr. José Francisco Parodi García, Lima. Perú.

Dr. José Francisco Parodi García is a geriatrician and professor of Geriatrics and Public Health at San Martín de Porres University. He is also Director of the Aging Research Center -CIEN.  

He studied medicine at the San Martín de Porres University. He has Master's in Public Health , PhD in Medicine, a Diploma in Medical Auditing. He has graduated from the Latin American Academy of Medicine for the Elderly (ALMA) and from the courses on Design of Virtual Teaching Environments and virtual tutor given in the Virtual Field of PAHO. He has been accredited as Master Trainer of Stanford University Self-Management Program For Chronic Disease “Taking Control of Your Health”.

He is currently an ad-honorem member of the Committee of Experts on the Elderly Life Stage of the Ministry of Health of Peru. Dr. Parodi has advised Latin American ministries of health and social issues on issues of public health and aging. Likewise, he has been invited expert and temporary advisor to international institutions (ECLAC, PAHO / WHO) on the subject of aging and health, in academic events and health policies.
