Covid-19 infections 'higher in care homes in England that use more agency staff' | Sarah Harper


Professor Sarah Harper comments on the ONS findings, highlighing how agency care home staff, often on low pay or zero-hours contracts, may have inadvertently contributed to the spread of the virus. 

“This again raises the question of the state of the social care system, which has been in desperate need of reform for years. It is underfunded and the care workers are underpaid," said Harper in an article published in The Guardian, 3 July 2020.
