Migration will not solve Europe's ageing challenge

Migration will not solve Europe's ageing challenge, warned Oxford's Dr George Leeson,  when he addressed the European Strategy Forum held in Portugal. While many may consider the migration of young workers as the solution to upcoming European high elderly dependency ratios , all the evidence is that most young migrants today eventually return to their source county, or if they stay they then take on the fertility rates of the host ocuntry and contribute to the ageing process itself.
