A PhD (Honoris Causa) was conferred by North-West University on Prof Monica Ferreira on 22 May 2019.
Professor Ferreira is one of two most prominent first generation exponents of research and development of policy on ageing in Africa. She is a founding member of AFRAN and was at Oxford in 2005 with the establishment of the network.
