Matthew Kaplan Ph.D. is Professor of Intergenerational Programs and Aging at the Pennsylvania State University in the U.S., and he is based in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education. In this position, he conducts research, develops curricular resources, and provides leadership in the development and evaluation of intergenerational programs.

At the core of his research and outreach initiatives is the Penn State Intergenerational Program which is rooted in Penn State Extension but inclusive of a broader base of scholars and practitioners interested in studying and employing intergenerational approaches in diverse settings.

He has a Ph.D. in Environmental Psychology from the City University of New York Graduate Center. He was a Visiting fellow at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing during the 2015 Trinity Term.
