Biosketch
Dr. Fonchingong formerly lectured at the University of Buea, Cameroon in the Department of Women and Gender Studies. He holds a PhD in Social Policy of the University of Kent and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His research for his PhD focused on 'Gender Dynamics of Elderly Welfare and Semi-Formal Protection in Cameroon'. His publications have appeared in well-regarded Journals amongst which are Gender and Development, GeoJournal, African and Asian Studies, Environment, Sustainabilty and Development Journal, Jenda Journal, the African Journal of AIDS Research, Social Identities and UNESCO's International Social Science Journal.
