Biosketch

Dr Freeman’s research considers experiences of growing old in southern and central Africa, focusing particularly on identity in old age, sexual health (including HIV/AIDS) and the body.  Her PhD is from the London School of Economics and looked at Older adults’ experiences of ageing, sex and HIV infection in rural Malawi.
