Biosketch

Victoria is a Reader in Demography in the Division of Social Statistics and Demography at the University of Southampton. Dr. Hosegood have a joint appointment with the Africa Centre for Health & Population Studies/UKZN where whom she have worked since 1997. Her primary research interests relate to the demography and health of families in sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on South Africa, HIV and AIDS. Also, she is involved in research on HIV-infected and HIV-affected older people in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

  • Family and household factors and processes that promote health and wellbeing across the life course
  • Measurement, collection and analysis of family demographic and health data in resource poor settings
  • Design and evaluation of family-based interventions
