Biosketch

Dr. Nhongo is currently the regional representative for Africa for HelpAge International. He holds a Diploma, Bachelor and Masters Degree in Social Work, a diploma and certificate in marketing and practical NGO management. His PhD thesis was on the theme of ‘The conflict between traditional and legal systems of inheritance after the death of a spouse among black people of Zimbabwe”. Dr. Nhongo has worked as a researcher and active practitioner in the ageing field since 1988 and has presented papers in national and international forums on ageing since then. He has contributed to the AU Policy Framework and Plan of Action on Ageing as well as to the formulation of ageing policies in Africa.
