James Odit holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Sociology and Social Administration from Makerere University in Uganda, a Master of Arts degree in Population Studies from the University of Ghana and is currently a PhD student at the University of South Africa.
Odit has worked as a Social Development practitioner for over 20 years and with several African countries. This includes serving for 11years from Lusaka Zambia as Regional Director, Africa and also Programme Manager at the Commonwealth Secretariat. Additionally he worked for 10 years as a Senior Youth Officer at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development which is responsible for older persons in Uganda.
