Kay Thwe Kyaw was an Academic Visitor at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from 1 May to 31 July 2019.

Dr. Kay Thwe Kyaw is currently a doctoral student in Public Health (Epidemiology) at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. She obtained a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) from the College of Medicine and Life Sciences at the University of Toledo, Ohio, United States. She has a Medical Degree from the University of Medicine (I), Yangon, Myanmar.

She served as a coinvestigator in a multisite investigation into the complex interrelationship between dementia and physical frailty in older adults in New York State. She participated in evaluations of older adults with dementia, mastered the complexities of neuropsychiatric testing and frailty assessment in older adults.

A Physician by training with clinical experiences in caring for the elderly in long term care settings, she is passionate about combining the art and science of medicine and public health (Epidemiology) with research in an ageing population.
