Kun Lee was an IARU intern at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from 19 August to 27 September 2019.

Kun just finished his master's degree in Comparative Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention, University of Oxford. His main research area is social policy related to population ageing. He is currently looking at comparative pension system, labour market institution and family policy, which are relevant topics for older adults' labour market participation and the low fertility issue. His master's thesis was comparing pension systems and labour market institutions between South Korea and the Netherlands, and analysed how different institutional arrangements shape the patterns of old-age employment in the two countries. He has also written a separate paper about the causes of low fertility and family policy arrangements in South Korea, in collaboration with Professor Asghar Zaidi, who is a senior research fellow at the OIPA. Kun is now planning to combine social policy with demographic methods for his PhD research.

Originally from South Korea, Kun graduated from Seoul National University with honours and holds a dual BA degree in Social Welfare and Economics.
