Ziyan Chen was a Visiting Student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from October 2023 to April 2024. She is a second-year master's student in Social Work at the Institute of Population Research, Peking University, China. She earned her bachelor's degree in Digital Media from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Ziyan's research expertise lies in promoting the health of older individuals, particularly those with chronic diseases or disabilities. Her work focuses on the role of social and behavioral factors in ageing health, emphasizing modifiable elements. She explores the impact of social psychological factors, including attitudes toward ageing, use of Gerontechnology, and appearance enhancement behaviors on older persons' mental and physical health, using various research methods.

During her stay at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, Ziyan will delve into the effects of digital technology use on the mental health of older adults. Her presence adds a valuable perspective to the institute's mission of advancing knowledge in population ageing. Ziyan Chen's dedication to improving the lives of older populations through evidence-based research is a driving force in her academic journey.
