Wenyi Gong

Wenyi Gong is currently a Visiting Student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from October 2023 to April 2024. Originating from Peking University in China, she is in her second-year master's studies in Political Economics at the Institute of Population Research. Before embarking on her Master's journey, Wenyi completed her Bachelor's degree in Management from the Yuanpei College at Peking University. During her undergraduate tenure, she was selected for the Future Leaders Program at the Guanghua School of Management.

Wenyi's academic pursuits are deeply rooted in understanding the health inequalities faced by older adults due to socioeconomic disparities. She is passionately committed to identifying interventions to address these pressing issues. A significant area of her research expertise is the measurement of time use in social participation. Central to her work is the aim to enhance the well-being of older adults, with a special emphasis on mental health and fostering social engagement.

During the visit, Wenyi plans to explore in more detail the time use of older adults and its regional and gender differences in China.
