Niuniu Cui was a visiting student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from October 2024 to March 2025.
He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Population Research at Peking University, China. Niuniu holds a Master’s degree in Demography from Peking University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Shandong University.
Niuniu's research interests primarily revolve around the mental health and subjective well-being of vulnerable populations, including older adults, people with disabilities, and adolescents. His previous studies examined the definition, measurement, and factors influencing the sense of relative deprivation among individuals with disabilities. Currently, he is exploring the relationships and interactions between older adults and adolescents within the family context, as well as the impact of these dynamics on their mental health, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
