Zhenyu Wang is a Visiting Student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from April to November 2025.

She is a PhD candidate in Public Administration at Sun Yat-sen University, China, and a joint PhD student and associate researcher at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Zhenyu’s research focuses on social welfare, health policy, social care and ageing, where she has addressed key issues through more than ten academic papers published as the first or corresponding author. She is also skilled in mixed methods research and data-driven typological analysis. During her time at Oxford, Zhenyu will focus on the care needs and later-life arrangements of older adults from one-child families, as well as patterns of intergenerational support and interaction within families, with comparative insights drawn from China and the UK. Her recent research also extends to private pension systems.
