Yin Shushan is a Visiting Student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from October 2025 to April 2026.
Shushan is currently pursuing his PhD in Social Gerontology at the Institute of Population Research, Peking University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Science and Technology Beijing and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Peking University. His research explores care in later life, with a particular focus on healthcare-related caregiving. He primarily employs qualitative research methods to examine the lived experiences and social dynamics of elder care.
During his visit to the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, Shushan will focus on the study of elder care and Buddhist approaches to end-of-life care, as well as the issue of truth-telling at the end of life within the Chinese social context.
