Zhang Xin is an Academic Visitor at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from January 2026 to July 2026.

Her research focuses on integrated medical and older adult care education, talent development for ageing care, and industry–university collaboration in the field of healthy ageing. She has led multiple provincial-level research projects, including the development of a standard system for talent training in integrated medical and older adult care, empirical research on talent training models for elderly care majors, and Research on the Teaching Model and Evaluation System of the Health and Elderly Care Undergraduate Major Group.

In addition, she has participated in several major national projects, including the Chinese Academy of Engineering’s key consulting project Research on the Development Strategy of China’s Elderly Health and Care Industry, the National Key Research and Development Program Talent Training and Service Capacity Building for Integrated Medical and Elderly Care, and projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology (serving as the lead for curriculum construction) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs (Elderly Capacity Assessment). She has also presided over and participated in multiple research projects funded by central universities.

Zhang Xin serves as an International Judge for the WorldSkills Competition, as well as Chief Judge and Arbitrator for the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition.

During her academic visit to the University of Oxford, Zhang Xin will further advance her research on talent training models for ageing care and work to translate her research outcomes into practical standards and guidelines to support the development of professional education and training in the field of elderly care.
