Jiayi Zhu is a visiting student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from May 2026 to August 2026. She is currently a doctoral student in Nursing at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University, China, under the supervision of Professor Jianfei Xie.
Her research focuses on mental health nursing, particularly the psychological well-being of older adults with chronic conditions and kidney transplant recipients. She is also interested in innovative and digital interventions for improving physical and mental health, as well as the cost-effectiveness of community-based interventions for older adults with chronic conditions.
During her visit to the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, she will focus on mental health and well-being among older adults with chronic conditions. Drawing on her background in nursing, digital health, and community-based care, she aims to explore how innovative interventions can support healthy ageing and improve the quality of care for older populations.
