Qiuxiang Zhang is an Academic Visitor at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from May to August 2026.
Her research focuses on the long-term care of older adults, geriatric mental health, and comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA). She holds professional qualifications including Certified Comprehensive Geriatric Assessor, Certified Health Manager, Fall Prevention and Management Specialist, and Vocational Skill Level Assessor for Long-term Care Practitioners.
She currently works as Chief Nurse (Professor-level Senior Nurse) at The Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, and acts as a postgraduate supervisor at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University. She also holds academic concurrent appointments, including Member of the Expert Pool of the Gerontological Nursing Committee, Chinese Nursing Association, and Vice Chair of the Gerontological Nursing Committee, Hunan Nursing Association.
She has published over 10 peer-reviewed academic papers, presided over 5 provincial and municipal research projects, served as chief editor or associate editor of 4 textbooks, and been granted 4 national utility model patents.
During her academic visit, she will conduct China-UK comparative research on elderly care delivery and geriatric psychological support models. Her research aims to optimize localized comprehensive geriatric assessment criteria, alleviate the burden of family caregivers, and upgrade community-based elderly care services at the regional level.
