Zitong Lu completed her undergraduate nursing education at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University, where she is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Nursing. She works as a nurse in the Operating Room Centre at the Third Xiangya Hospital.

Her research interests include the mental health of cancer patients, behavioural interventions, patient engagement, and digital health interventions. She has participated in health education-related projects, serving as a health education officer, and has contributed to the writing of a book on integrated nursing care for haematology and oncology patients.

During her visit to Oxford (July–September 2026), Zitong Lu will focus on exploring psychological interventions for older cancer patients and their impact on healthcare service utilisation.
