Andrea Arboleda is a Visiting Student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from September 2026 to January 2027, hosted by Professor George Leeson.

She is a third-year doctoral candidate in Business Administration, specialising in Operations and Logistics, at the School of Economics and Management, Universidade do Porto, supervised by Professor Maria do Rosário Moreira and Professor Paulo Sérgio Amaral de Sousa. Her doctoral thesis, "The Use of Telemedicine in Nursing Homes, An Integrated Approach for Hybrid Medical Care Services," follows a publication-based format across three studies.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Government from Harvard University, graduated cum laude with a focus on Public Policy and International Political Economy, and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law from Comillas Pontifical University, with a thesis on the evolution of social rights and gender diversity in international legal frameworks. Her academic background bridges economics, law and health policy, and has informed a career spanning healthcare strategy, regulatory affairs, and international institutional relations.

Her research centres on hybrid care models for older adults and patients with chronic conditions, with a particular focus on how AI-enabled home monitoring platforms generate and act on clinical alerts. Her current study is a retrospective cohort validating AI-generated high-priority alerts against laboratory-confirmed clinical deterioration and mortality in older adults with cardiometabolic conditions monitored through a home care platform in Colombia.

During her stay at OIPA, she aims to situate this work within the wider population ageing literature, strengthen her methodological approach to alarm rationalisation and algorithmic equity in monitoring systems, and build connections between her Latin America-focused research and the Institute's international network.
