Haopeng Zhang is a visiting student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from September 2026 to March 2027. He obtained his Master’s degree in Public Management from Fudan University and his Bachelor’s degree in Labour and Social Security from Northwest University. He is currently a PhD candidate in Demography at the Institute of Population Research, Peking University.
His research interests include intergenerational support, population ageing, older people’s health, and disability. His research primarily involves the analysis of large-scale datasets using quantitative methods, including causal inference, data mining, text analysis, and spatial analysis. He has published several papers in SCIE-, ESCI-, and CSSCI-indexed journals.
During his stay at the University of Oxford, he plans to integrate multi-source heterogeneous data and apply big-data analytical methods to investigate health, well-being, and social welfare issues among older people and persons with disabilities.
