Julinling Hu is a visiting student at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from September 2026 to March 2027. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine in Preventive Medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Master of Public Health from Sichuan University. She is currently a PhD candidate in Demography at the Institute of Population Research, Peking University, China.

Her research interests include older adults’ health, reproductive health, and health behaviour interventions. Her doctoral research focuses on fertility protection among women of reproductive age, using a mixed-methods approach to examine the associations between information sources, knowledge, and attitudes towards fertility preservation, as well as the mechanisms underlying these associations. She also has a particular interest in the role of physical activity and other lifestyle behaviours in cognitive health, and in adapting interventions to different social and community settings.

During her stay at OIPA, she will explore the potential of remotely delivered physical activity interventions to support cognitive health among older adults with mild cognitive impairment, with a focus on accessibility and implementation in community settings. She aims to refine her research approach through collaboration with researchers at the Institute.
