With the launch of The International Labour Organization’s flagship report World Employment and Social Outlook: Trends 2018, Dr George Leeson was interviewed by the UN Department of Public Information, the UN's multimedia news service.
This year’s edition highlights the challenges in the labour market, assessing the most recent developments and making global and regional projections of unemployment, vulnerable employment and working poverty. It also takes stock of structural sectoral shifts and ageing, two long-term trends likely to add further pressures on the labour market.
Dr Leeson discussed the pressures of an ageing population on future labour markets and the pension system. The podcast version with synchronised translation from English to Russian is available here .
