Dr Danni Zheng is a visiting academic at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing from November 2024 to July 2025.
She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism at Fudan University, China. Dr. Zheng earned her Ph.D. and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Business, The University of Queensland, Australia. Her research focuses on tourism and health, particularly the relationships between psychology, mental health, decision-making in tourism, and digital experiences. She has initiated research projects exploring tourism’s role in enhancing the wellbeing of vulnerable tourists, including ageing populations, early-stage dementia patients, and tourists with mental health disorders.
In 2020, she was recognized as one of the 'Top 40 Young Researchers in Australia' and was awarded the 'Shanghai Pujiang Talent' in 2022. Dr. Zheng currently leads National Research Grants and serves as a guest editor, social media editor, and editorial board member for journals such as Tourism Management, Tourism Planning & Development, Tourism Analysis, and Tourism Science.
