The University of Sau Paulo hosted the IV International Gerontology Colloquium at the Auditorio Ribeirao Preto 18-19 October 2013. The conference included talks from Dr. George Leeson, director of the Latin American Network on Ageing, Dr Jaco Hoffmann director of the African Research on Ageing Network and former OIPA visitors prof Carla da Silva Santana (University of Sau Paulo). Dr Leeson presented the paper 'Can we cope with all this Dying? A return to the demography of Death', while Jaco Hoffmann's lecture focused on 'Caregiving for dependent older people in contexts of poverty in Sub-Saharian Africa'.
