'12 Days Without a Home' Book Launch

At a celebratory event in Copenhagen on May 27th 2011, to mark the 100th anniversary of Arbejde Adler at Christiansborg, the Danish House of Parliament, Dr George W Leeson's (Co-Director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing) new book was launched.

The book 12 Days Without a Home is a diary from Dr Leeson's research work in Denmark with older homeless people. The Danish Minister for Social Affairs, Benedicte Kiær,  presented the current government's initiatives relating to social isolation and exclusion.  In doing so, he stressed the importance of the Danish National Strategy for Homelessness to enable the government to focus on the complex issues facing homeless people in Denmark.  In that context, Dr Leeson presented his research findings and his newly published book.
