The Institute is delighted to announce that the Institute's Founding Director, Professor Sarah Harper has been appointed Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to the science of demography in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours List.
This is a well-deserved acknowledgment of Professor Harper's longstanding and tireless work in the field both at home and abroad, and on her appointment Professor Harper says:
"I am honoured that the work on population ageing which I and colleagues have undertaken here at Oxford over the past 20 years has received such recognition, and it is immensely rewarding to have our research and the impact it is able to have on policy and practice thus recognised".
