Sarah Westwood, former Institute visitor, has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to cover her Masters degree in Education at Oxford. Sarah, a visiting student from Cape Town University (South Africa), had initially been awarded a Visiting Grant to attend the Collen Programme Training School in Demography (28 April – 1 May 2014).
The Collen Programme sponsors a Visiting Programme to the University of Oxford, designed to support candidates with a research, policy or practice background and with an interest in population change in developing countries. As part of the Collen capacity building programme, an annual Oxford Training School is organized with the objective to train future researchers and professionals to work with population data and research findings.
