The Institute welcomes this terms visitors from around the globe: Professor Merril Silverstein (USA), Dr Younga Kim (S. Korea), Mr Yongjie Yon (Canada) and Ms Joobong Kim (Japan)


The Oxford Institute of Population Ageing are very please to welcome academic visitors from around the world.  This Hilary term there are four new faces at the Institute, these are:

Professor Merril Silverstein who joins us this term as a Senior James Martin Visiting Fellow from the 4th January 2016 to the 25th March 2016.  Professor Silverstein joins us from Aging Studies Institute, Syracuse University in the USA, where he is the Marjorie Cantor Endowed Professor in Aging.

Dr Younga Kim from the Republic of South Korea.  Dr Kim received her Ph.D. in Sociology at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, and is a Member of the Research Team on Social Inequalities (ERIS) at the Maurice Halbwachs centre, France. Dr Kim joins us as a James Martin Fellow from the 31st December 2015 to the 31st March 2016.

Mr Yongjie Yon from the Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California, USA and is a doctoral fellow from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).  Mr Yon joins us as a Visiting Junior Academic under the James Martin Fellowship Programme from the 17th January 2016 to the 12th March 2016.

Ms Joobong Kim from the Graduate School of Economics at the Osaka University in Japan. Ms Kim joins us as a Visiting Junior Academic from the 1st February 2016 to the 11th March 2016.
