Ageing Horizons was originally published between 2004 and 2010, edited by my colleague Kenneth Howse. It was a review of analysis and research on policy futures in an ageing society. It also served as a thematic resource for abstracts, news, commentary, and debate on the policy issues that are likely to arise in the medium term as a result of population ageing.
As co-editor of the Journal of Population Ageing, it has become clear that there is a wealth of interesting research results which are unable to find a publication platform because of the pressures on Journals and because of the simple increase in research output.
It is hoped that by relaunching Ageing Horizons in collaboration with HelpAge International we can provide a modest platform for some of this wealth of research.
