Actuarial Conference 14 & 15 July 2011

Kenneth Howse, Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing and Ana Maria Madrigal from Club Vita will participate at the upcoming Actuarial Conference hosted by the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford on 14 and 15 July 2011.

The Actuarial Profession has identified 'bridging the gaps' between silos as one of its key themes for research and knowledge transfer for 2011-2011, whether these gaps are between academics and practitioners, between academic disciplines, or between actuaries and other professions.

Kenneth and Ana Maria will focus on the successful research partnership between the Institute and Club Vita.  More specifically, on Friday 15th July at 11:30 a.m. 'A Case Study in Collaboration:  OIA and Club Vita'  they will speak about their current research project which explores the socio-demographic variations in mortality and aims to answer questions such as: Is the difference between regions bigger for some socio-economic groups than others? Does socio-economic gradient narrow with age?
