Commonwealth Story Telling Project

With the aim of connecting all ages across the Commonwealth, combating ageism and recording stories for generations to come, CommonAge is inviting young people living in Commonwealth countries to spend time with an older person and write that person’s life story.

Essays submitted will be considered for inclusion in a special book, which will be published to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 65 years as Head of the Commonwealth in April 2018.

The Oxford Institute of Population Ageing is working in partnership with CommonAge on a research project “Ageing in the Commonwealth”. The outcome of the research report will be launched in the lead up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in UK in 2018. It is intended this report will provide a baseline assessment of the status of older people and support currently available to them from governments and non state organisations across all 52 countries of the Commonwealth.  Click here for more details.
