2008 Spring School Programme
The First Spring School in Ageing was held 14 – 17 April 2008, and attracted over 70 participants drawn from regions across the globe. It provided a Multi-Disciplinary Toolkit for Global Ageing Research, equipping the next generation of researchers with the tools they need to move into the 21st century. A truly multi-disciplinary learning experience, the School has drawn on Oxford academics from three divisions, and presented a unique opportunity for interaction between leading experts and emerging researchers in bio-demographic, social and behavioural research, to explore both individual and population ageing. The School filled an existing gap in academic skills in global ageing research and once again emphasized the University of Oxford, and the Oxford Institute of Ageing, as a first in this endeavour.
