The Institute is very saddened to learn that Dr. Richard Suzman, Director of NIA's Division of Behavioral and Social Research has died. Richard was a tremendous supporter of the Institute of Population Ageing and its work. Along with colleagues across the globe who work on population ageing, the Institute here at Oxford owes a great debt to Richard, both for his foresight in promoting the concept of demographic ageing, and for his initial belief in and continued support of the work of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing.
